The following section is a comparison among 31 different international brands. We have chosen similar fabrics and similar styles. Fabric is mainly 100% cotton. Only six companies do use a little bit different fabric composition. For example. Diesel uses for the selected style 90% cotton, 8% polyester and 1% elasthane. Celio uses 99% cotton and 1% elasthane. Abercrombie 98% CO and 2% elasthane, Lee 99% CO and 1% spandex. Versace 94%CO, 6% cashmere. Armani 58% CO and 42% linen. The average fabric weight is 11,5 oz except Levi´s which uses 12.6oz. In regards washes effects, we have mainly focused on used vintage looks. Used effects and whiskers, moustaches. No grinding involved for the chosen styles..
We have chosen similar patterns so fabric consumption should not differ significantly from one style to anoter. And accesories also.
The following analysis graph illustrates how diverse is the jeans market and the number of market niches that brands do target as well. Around 17 brands (54%) are in the price range from 20 to around 100 USD per jeans. Six (20%) brands are in between 100 to 200 USD per pair of jeans. From 200 to 300 USD per jeans are just 5 companies (16%) and from 300 to 550 USD just 3 top brands (9,6%). This date suggests that there are mainly 4 market niches for retail brands and for similar jeans.
